After losing her husband and her job, a Yup'ik Inuit woman races to keep her children ahead of the law by leading them into Alaska's wild and expansive wilderness just steps ahead of a social worker wanting to apprehend them.

SYNOPSIS:

Rabbit-Proof Fence meets Longmire meets Alaska.

Irenea must choose between keeping her children and the children entrusted into her care or staying in the biggest city of Alaska. Her choice? Move to the wilds of Alaska but in order to do that she will have to lead them out on foot.

Ms. Matthews, an overzealous social worker, believes that Native children are better served by the state and works to save every child by putting them in foster care - even when they don't need saving. Before she can be seize Irenea and her children, they escape.

Upon seeing the State Troopers on her trail, Irenea knows she must cut all ties to civilization to keep her family safe. After a few fits and starts, her children learn how to stay alive using traditional Yup'ik values and western academia. No worries! It hard but it's a living. That is until a judge goes missing and Irenea is blamed!
