ON SUMMER'S WING (IN PRE-PRODUCTION)
By Bob Johnson

GENRE: Family
LOGLINE:

A troubled teen, forced to spend the summer on her grandparents' farm, learns about love, faith and family after discovering her grandfather was a World War II fighter ace.

SYNOPSIS:

Summer Williams, a troubled teenager, runs away to her grandparents' farm, hoping to avoid arrest after joyriding in a stolen pickup.

But she soon learns that Gramps isn't the sort to put up with any nonsense from a mouthy teenager. When she discovers an old biplane in the barn, she learns that her grandfather was a World War II fighter pilot. After a hailstorm takes half the corn crop, she learns what it means to work a farm. To plant for the future. To be part of a family.

To almost lose someone...

When a freak accident nearly kills her grandfather, and with the farm and harvest in jeopardy, Summer must face her own crisis of faith. Determined to finish the replanting that she and her grandfather had begun, she learns the true meaning of work, faith, and family.

In the end, she finally realizes that she must accept responsibility and face the consequences of her actions.

An earlier version of this story was a finalist in the Kairos Prize Competition for Spiritually Uplifting Screenplays. If you like the concept of ON SUMMER'S WING, I'd be pleased to send you the script.
