SHE'S THE WAN
By James Calder

GENRE: Comedy, Fantasy, Romance
LOGLINE:

Oblivious to the charms of a potential soulmate and the advice of telepathic locals with a gift for matchmaking, a gullible Englishman in Glasgow falls instead for a femme fatale.

SYNOPSIS:

A total dropout when it comes to love, hapless Huw Burns couldn’t spot a soul mate if she gave him a Glasgow kiss. It’s just as well, then, that the friendly folk of Glesga are on hand to nudge him towards amorous enlightenment and, if all goes to plan, into the arms of Kirstie, the girl he is meant to be with.

Yet with lothario flatmate Scott dishing out his own brand of advice and proposing an alternative love match in the gorgeous Kelly, the easily influenced Huw (or Shug, as the locals take to calling him, to his annoyance) is oblivious to the prompting of the city’s well-intentioned residents, meaning his path to true love runs anything but smooth.

SHE’S THE WAN is a romantic comedy set in the dying days of the Margaret Thatcher administration in a city famed for the warmth and humour of its inhabitants. It tells the tale of a young man’s glacial and often comic journey towards self-knowledge, social awareness and romantic fulfilment.

This is a very well-written, well-planned out screenplay. I'd pay $15.00 at my local Cineplex to see this Film.
