DEATH SPIRIT

DEATH SPIRIT
By Geoff Hall

GENRE: Fantasy
LOGLINE:

A criminal psychologist uses Jungian Imaginal crime scene analysis to determine the identity of the perpetrator, but then the darkness without becomes the darkness within. In essence, Death Spirit is a badly lit nightmare.

SYNOPSIS:

Tagline: "There's only one species on Earth dedicated to its own destruction."

The signature style of the show, draws upon stories such as Mindhunter and its search for the motivations and otherworldliness of the criminal mind, Se7en in its systematic rage against the depravity of humanity and Homeland’s race against terrorism through the lens of corrupted National authorities.

Its visual style is to be found in film noir, with its sharp contrasts of light and shade and the foreboding atmosphere of The Silence of the Lambs. In essence, Death Spirit is a badly lit nightmare.

The context is of a world that has lost its way and holds little value for human life.

We move from being a victim of what is happening, to being a witness to what is happening...This move from victim to witness is an early psychological fruit, of the contemplative journey.” Martin Laird

Death Spirit is a contemplation on the dedication of humanity towards its own destruction. Notwithstanding this, our characters have a redemptive aim that doesn’t rely on the myth of redemptive violence.
