Nine neighbors take shelter in a Brooklyn basement during the first air raid of the new war, must find a way to survive the night... and each other.
SYNOPSIS:
A single father and his daughter take shelter in their make-shift basement bomb shelter during the first air raid over Brooklyn of the coming war. When the bombing begins they are faced with the choice of which neighbors to let in their safe haven. Conflicts soon arise as the ethnic diversity of the occupants leads to discourse. When the building above collapses from a bomb, the nine neighbors are trapped and must work together to survive the night and each other.
I am in development, adapting my script for Basement into a film. Produced as a play in 2017, I feel the script will adapt well to the screen. It is a one-room, two act, continuous action script that can be shot quickly on a micro-budget SAG contract. I am currently speaking with some key personnel putting together a team. I hope to complete principle photography this year.

I'd like to know more about the conflict. Why must they survive each other? What war? Is this something made up? Is the war something that might cause conflict between the neighbors?
Is it because of their race, religion, or territorial issues? Good idea I just think "why" there's conflict needs to be stated.

Christine Capone - "Conflicts soon arise as the ethnic diversity of the occupants leads to discourse."
Yes or maybe something like "Nine neighbors from different ethnic backgrounds, take shelter in a basement during the first air raid of the new war, and must find a way to put aside their racial differences to survive the night and each other." Or is it 2 different families? I'd make it as simple as that. Maybe an african american and white family. Or maybe catholic and jewish. etc. Just a thought. : )
