After fingerprinting Jesus at the U.S.-Mexico border, a renegade border patrol officer struggles to believe, protect and assist the Messiah with His mysterious mission on Earth.
SYNOPSIS:
Reappearing in the border town of Tijuana, Jesus is almost run over by a van. The driver of that van will kill a child further up the road, where unseen and in the dark, Jesus performs a miracle bringing the child back to life. A world-wide prayer meeting T.V. premiere in San Diego is his ultimate destination, but getting across the border without identification presents His first obstacle
The National Security Agency’s (NSA) legendary mole, Burlington Stubbs, accuses God and the Church for the death of his mother and the revenge he took on a priest as a small child on the Rez. A clandestine operation has him reassigned to the Department of Homeland Security to spy on Customs Border Patrol (CPB) officers at the San Ysidro/Tijuana border crossing. Stubbs will be the first to meet Jesus and believe it’s really Him.
Jesus enters the United States illegally without any identification, gets caught and gets arrested. He is suspected of being a terrorist. He is released to Stubbs for fingerprinting and a thorough identification check. Preparing him for fingerprinting, Stubbs eyes stigmata on Jesus wrists, experiencing an epiphany that shakes what’s left of that tiny bit of faith he possesses to the core. He breaks Jesus out of the detention center, fleeing to his NSA secret home office in an AMC24 movie theater complex. He drops Jesus off to wait for him, warning Jesus not to talk to people or attract attention. He has no idea Jesus is here specifically for those two reasons.
For Stubbs, this is the stuff of a double agent’s greatest nightmare. A babysitter for the Messiah! He is compelled to tell his superiors at the NSA home office what happened to him at the border. He omits nothing and by doing so his once supportive team of agents become skeptical of him. They already have a volatile report on Stubbs and the man he helped escape from the Homeland Security border detention center earlier that day.
Unknown to everyone, Jesus’s image or voice cannot be visually uploaded, downloaded, recorded or otherwise filmed on any device. His image can be seen and his voice is heard by such devices as it occurs but will not be retained. There are other phenomena that occur in the presence of Jesus. He is every man’s Jesus and appears to be the same ethnicity to whomever perceives Him; if you are a Mexican, He is a Mexican; He will speak Spanish to you. Only the audience knows this.
In the wake of various statements made by witnesses to unnatural events, wild speculation and media leaks cause uproar in the border intelligence community. Jesus is perceived to be a terrorist on a mission to assassinate the president.
Jesus will meet homeless vet, Bobby Garret, who, has lost his faith in himself and humanity because of the war. Bobby admires Jesus and will hide him among the poor and homeless doing his best to help his new-found friend. He wants nothing to do with acknowledging his own valiant role as a heroic combat vet, but fate will have him meet up with Noah Right, a man he saved in action. To avoid the limelight, Bobby swears Noah saved their squad; it was the other way around.
Popular T.V. celebrity Bill Malone interviews Jesus. After their interview, Malone and his cameraman-sidekick-best friend, Scott Edmondson will become deeply involved trying to find out who and where the man they interviewed is and his purpose here.
Noah, a decorated war vet, now a PTSD paraplegic addicted to opiates, blames God for his injuries and takes it out on his father who he now distrusts, but once loved deeply.
T.V. star evangelist, Dr. Gideon Right is the heart throb of Christian America. His brother Lemuel is the promoter/manager of their mega-church productions. They will not cancel the opening of their World Wide Prayer T.V. Premiere for any reason. They believe media and military intelligence warnings of an assassination attempt on the president at their prayer event are fake.
Stubbs will find unexpected help from individuals caught up in their own efforts to find the man they believe is Jesus Christ.
