By Fancy Macelli

GENRE: Crime, Drama

SYNOPSIS:

The series follows two families. Evans’ blood may run dark blue, but there are still plenty of skeletons in the family closet. The four siblings struggle through walking in their own father’s footsteps as a deceased, revered law enforcement, detective that they don’t feel they measure up to, but even he carried his own secrets. They fight battles with substance abuse, problems in their marriages and the grief they have carried with them for more than a decade. ADA Sabine Evans has spent a decade trying to prove that wealthy playboy, David Jagger Jr., killed her half-sister, Ellie, a product of Sabine’s father’s torrid affair with a hooker from the wrong side of the tracks. The siblings never knew about Ellie until orphaned after her mother’s drug overdose she ends up on Sabine’s doorstep. Shy, ambitious, artistic and like all the Evans’ clan headstrong Ellie, dates David Jagger Jr. even in the face of disapproval from her family and his, not for his money and popularity, but despite it. Ellie disappeared on prom night after David Jr proposes in front of the whole school, only to be found dead next to a lake two weeks later. David Jagger Sr. rules his family and the town with a golden wallet and a silver tongue. He will stop at nothing to clear his son’s name and preserve his family image. The three, Jagger sons all take life for granted and have little concern for anything more than fast cars, a revolving door of women despite their white picket fence personas, and the silver spoon they were born with. The case runs cold for a decade but in a strange turn of events David Jr. is arrested for the kidnapping and torture of a missing college student, the ADA finally gets a chance to prosecute her nemesis. Sabine is tough-as-nails on the outside, but grief, the decade long pursuit, and the trial wear on her and she is self-conscious about letting herself go. She is driven to the point that she is beginning to neglect her family and self-medicate with alcohol. Sabine is smart, fiercely loyal to her family, and doesn’t take any bullshit. Let she who is without SIN cast the first stone. Ophelia, Sabine’s younger sister who often plays the role of mother to the entire brood and following in her father’s footsteps heads up Rosemoore PD’s Major Crimes unit and is quietly unconvinced of David Jr.’s guilt. More women go missing as the trial of the century begins but Sabine ignores the obvious clues that Jagger may have a partner, a copycat, or be completely innocent. Undercover officer, Aldric Evans discovers a sex trafficking ring that could account for many of the missing women cases tied to the Jagger trial. He gets a little too involved in his cases for his ultra-religious wife’s comfort. When the trial of David Jagger Jr. ends with a guilty verdict that nobody, not even Sabine is convinced is the truth, Aldric takes a page out of the street gang playbook and orders a rival from the jail to shank David in the shower leaving him hanging in the balance. Youngest brother Bastian begrudgingly fulfills the family legacy and uses booze and sex with strange women to compensate for the misery he feels as a beat cop, ending up as a suspect in the mounting woman that end up dead in Rosemoore. The two families collide when two of the younger members become romantically involved barreling towards one tragic night that will rock both families to the core. Everyone in Rosemoore has secrets. No one is without sin, but the residents of this small town make a career out of it.
