SYNOPSIS:

Tony’s Smokehouse Crematorium is a contemporary, cutting-edge, cross-genre “sitcom”with elements of comedy, drama, horror, and murder-mystery all rolled into one lightening-fast 30-minute show. It’s Shaun of the Dead meets the Sopranos meets Modern Family meets Always Sunny In Philadelphia.

TARGET AUDIENCE: 18-49 demographic.

LOGLINE: When four college students open a discount drive-thru crematorium, they make fast friends with a hitman, but overnight enemies of the angry newly cremated.

TIME/PLACE: Today’s cutthroat business world, where Tony’s discount cremation business takes over the location of two surf versus turf restaurant chains, with the help of a mob hitman disguised as a Church Lady.

MAJOR ROLES (all early 20s): Jamal Curry (African-American business major and entrepreneur who hates death), Tony Ruggiero (community college drop-in, and the wild front-man for the business), Kelli Matthews (part-Hispanic, part hit-woman, and Tony’s ex-girlfriend), and Huan Li (Chinese-American, the only normal one in the group).

SUPPORING ROLES: The Church Lady (50s), a hitman who wears women’s clothes with his five-o’clock shadow, and who works his day job at the Our Lady of Perpetual Guilt Catholic Church; and Dr. Reuben Ramos (50s), the stuffy but gay County Coroner, who is smitten with the Church Lady. Various spirits, the “newly cremated”wander in from the time their bodies are placed in the furnace until their remains are picked up twelve hours later.

CHALLENGES: Tony’s Smokehouse Crematorium is a fast-paced comedy-drama-horror-murder-mystery is an unpredictable show full of surprises guaranteed to highlight a broad range of acting experiences and emotions for the cast and audience.
