1 Hour Pilot

Synopsis

When the captain of the football team breaks her heart, Darci skips school only to encounter the spirit of a recently deceased man whose soul is troubled. He gives Darci a gift: a journal which has the power to transport her into her own future. When she witnesses her future self commit a crime, she is terrified.

Darci returns to her own time only to become involved in an incident that seriously injures a classmate. She is faced with a crisis when she realizes that people believe she was responsible--it appears that she was at least partially so--though the question of what actually happened remains a mystery. When she returns to her future timeline, she realizes that a one-time classmate and now police detective still harbors suspicions about her, so she covers up the evidence.

But the ghost with the troubled soul is still lurking around, and may not make erasing present or future wrongs so easy. And in the meantime, her future self may be more dangerous that she could imagine.

WHY THIS STORY / WHY NOW

THE HAUNTING OF DARCI DANBURY is a morality tale wrapped in a psychological thriller. As such, it deals with a fundamental choice—the choice to act selfishly or altruistically.

Intertwined with this choice is the decision of how and for what purpose we will use our gifts…our powers. Will it be for the benefit of ourselves alone or for the greater good? And what are the cascading consequences of these decisions?

How one teen girl navigates her choice and her power will offer viewers a glimpse into the dark corners of their own mistakes—past and present. Perhaps, while there is still the potential for redemption.
