SYNOPSIS:

While snowboarding in a wildlife reserve in the Canadian Yukon, three friends are attacked by an unidentified apex predator. Scott (19), is seriously wounded, while his girlfriend Arianne, is taken by the animal to its cave, and feared dead. Arianne's father, the town's Police Captain, believes they encountered a grizzly, but Scott's father, a Zoologist, suspects a link to the recent discovery of three hunters, found mutilated in the park with their hearts missing, and rapidly-evolving Chimeric DNA in their blood.

When Scott's wounds heal almost overnight, his father secretly notifies a pharmaceutical company, which sends a team of trappers to capture the creature, inside the wildlife reserve. Believing Arianne is still alive, Scott tells Matusa, a First Nations man, who fears she was taken by Yakatutch, a warrior that was cursed and banished to the mountains, 300 years ago. Scott learns Matusa is his half-brother, and their mothers' bloodline is linked to Yakatutch - making them the only ones who can stop the creature. They convince Scott's father to take them to the mountains with the trappers, to rescue Arianne.

When Yakatutch defends his domain and slaughters most of the trappers, Arianne is found alive and brought back to town, her wounds completely healed. Scott warns his father that the creature will come after Arianne, but the surviving trapper who lead the expedition uses her as bait to lure Yakatutch into a trap. Together with Matusa, Scott and his father must end the curse and stop the creature, which now threatens their small town.

This reminds me so much of the film, "Don't Say Its Name," in terms of general premise.
