Mmm, I don't know... It gives me mixed feelings. On the one hand, it's such a great insight into the difficulty of coming out to your family, but on the other hand, what does the designer get out of it? The sick satisfaction of watching (what I assume to be fellow) gay people suffer an angst they already have to deal with? And all of this in a thriller COMEDY?
This sounds more like a sadistic horror movie in the same category as Saw or any movie where people are trapped in a sick mind game.

I can understand the mixed feelings: it's a tricky tone to balance in terms of pathos AND humour, especially with such a difficult and resonant theme for many people. However, I DO have quite a dark sense of humour, and toxic masculinity in the gay/queer community is a consistent theme in what I like to write, so a bit of quasi-sadistic satire just felt right for me with this idea :)

I love the extremely unique thriller premise -- would be interesting to see the choices each character would make and why.

Thanks Alicia! Glad you like the premise, a unique twist is something I was aiming for -- the choices these characters make are honestly quite awful, especially to each other as the story progresses in one location :D

A mixed bag for me too. Not because of the themes and the concept, but because of the outcome.

Hi Marcel, thank you for your rating :) The themes at play can be a bit tricky to pull off in a darkly funny way, given their serious nature; the outcome of the story itself will depend on how the themes develop throughout, though will likely go in a similar direction tonally, i.e. black comedy thriller
Nate Rymer If you're taking the dramedy route, it makes more sense.
