SYNOPSIS:

Erik and Amanda Brand have the ideal marriage, prestigious careers and the perfect family (two young children and a housekeeper). Erik heads of a very successful advertising agency and Amanda’s wild artistic bent has developed into a very profitable Interior Design business. Their greatest strength is their love for, belief in and devotion to each other. They know they are invulnerable; they call themselves “the Untouchables”. Their only problem – they have no time to be alone. **** So they devise the perfect solution. Erik rents a small beach house where, several times a week, he and Denise meet for “lunch”. And for this hour together they talk, hold each other, make love, and cherish each other. Now life is perfect. But the rumors start - rumors of infidelity. One of Amanda’s wealthy and jealous clients relishes the thought that Erik and Amanda Brand are less than perfect – that their marriage is flawed. She fuels rumors, makes them sound like facts. The rumors ripple through the town and ignite other rumors and eventually they reach to Amanda and Erik. At first they dismiss them with “it’s because of the beach house”. But the rumors grow. Pieces of evidence seem convincing. Both Erik and Amanda witness events that seem to validate their deepest fears. And for the first time their trust in themselves and each other is challenged. They hide their concerns from everyone, except their closest friends. They try to talk to each other but find that their fears overpower what little courage they have left. The children become frightened because they begin to see through the façade that each parent is trying to maintain. In a final desperate attempt to unearth the truth and catch Erik in the act, Amanda disguises herself so that she can follow him unrecognized - invisible. Erik recognizes her voice but her disguise only increases his suspicions. Following suit, he totally alters his appearance. Denise does not let on that she recognizes him, but she, too, becomes more suspicious. They both feel ‘invisible’ and allow themselves to experience the secret life of their spouse - as a stranger. The ‘invisibility’ gives them courage; the danger re-stimulates the passion. And under the protective cloaks of their disguise, they re-discover themselves, openly express their fears, passions and desires and realize how terribly flawed they are. And that they have to start all over again.
