A young, recently disbarred, attorney goes to work for a money launderer.

SYNOPSIS:

“LAUNDRY” is the story of Jason Reed, a young recently disbarred attorney, and his journey into the dark underworld of money laundering, murder, and corruption.

Daniel Leary is the leader of a criminal empire that specializes in money laundering, illegal arms sales, extortion, murder and corruption.After killing his current protégé Ted Thompson, Daniel begins to recruit Jason whose career he has followed closely for some time.

Up until six months ago Jason Reed was one of the hottest up and coming attorneys in Los Angeles; that is, until he was disbarred for unethical conduct.Suspected of witness tampering and blackmail, but never charged, he was quickly terminated by the prestigious law firm he worked for. Jason’s rapid demise sparked a six month self destructive phase fueled by alcohol, biker bars, and loose women.When Jason causes a bar fight that lands several outlaw motorcycle gang members in jail for trafficking methamphetamine his proposition by Daniel could not come at a better time. Jason is released from jail due to Daniel’s influence and is offered a limousine ride to Palm Springs where he is interviewed by a partially blocked video conference with Daniel.The interview tells us more about Jason’s disbarment and reveals how he may indeed be the right man for Daniel’s organization.Given a choice to be on a jet in two days or part ways Jason is forced with a decision, walk away and contend with the bikers, or be on a flight where there is no turning back.

Meanwhile Ted Thompson’s reckless side venture may turn out to be more than just a nuisance for Daniel.In order to keep his business secret Ted purchased the cocaine from a competitor of one of the firms most powerful clients; in addition, Ted has contracted the services of a middle level distributor named Malcolm.Malcolm has employed a man named Styles and his meth head cousin known as Shakes to move the product.After undercover agent Jack Lehman kills Styles and arrests Shakes in a drug sting he makes a deal with Shakes to help him catch Malcolm with over thirty kilos of cocaine.If caught, Malcolm could divulge the identity of Ted, and Daniel’s firm in the process.

Daniel however has been operating in a business that does not tolerate mistakes for over 30 years and knows how to perform damage control.When an explosion bursts over Shakes audio wire, agents Jack Lehman and Steve Forney rush into a warehouse.There the agents see first hand the brutality and cunning of their anonymous adversary who not only eliminated the threats to his organization but, via a cleverly placed wireless camera in the mouth of the deceased Malcolm, now knows their identities as well.

With Daniel’s new protégé on board, and a new set of cunning agents on the trail, the chessboard is set.
