SYNOPSIS:

From Black List coverage:

The premise here is very intriguing, as a near future in which the government rehabilitates criminals- and gives the wronged a chance to move on from the scars of their past - by erasing their memories surrounding the events in question is conceptually a great hook. THE BLANKED does a good job of showing the efficacy of this program, as both KEN (at least after a rough first day) and TYRA seamlessly move into new jobs and resume their lives after they've been blanked. Due to a series of flashbacks, we know that there was a mutual attraction between Ken and Tyra in the first moments that they met - a fact that adds a layer of complexity to their relationship, which turned out to be one in which Ken abused Tyra. In the aftermath of their blanking, the script successfully draws Ken and Tyra as lonely souls looking to connect, and we've already seen that their compatible. Thus, it's satisfying to watch the story build to the point where they meet again, and the ambiguity in the last line of the script- that they're attracted to each other and might even seem familiar to one another - is a great cliffhanger to end on. Ken's “TJ: tattoo is very intriguing and the writing style here is one of the highlights of the script, as it's sparse and often poignant. Scenes move very quickly and there is a nice sense of momentum throughout.

Because of the juicy hook here, THE BLANKED has a lot of potential. The idea driving this pilot is immediately fascinating, and it seems like something that could hook an audience
