Two estranged best friends (one bi, one asexual) find themselves back in their dysfunctional, tiny Colorado hometown together for the first time in a decade, resurrecting their childhood detective agency after a mysterious murder in the house they’d always suspected was haunted.
SYNOPSIS:
The Crossriver Case Files is cozy mystery 1 hour drama series taking inspiration from classic Nancy Drew novels, set in the fictional small town of Crossriver, Colorado. After the mysterious death of their favorite elementary school teacher in the vacant house they’d hyper-fixated on as children, estranged best friends Drew Bailey, the impulsive blacklisted journalist, and Georgie Anderson, the passive perpetual freelancer, find themselves drawn back together to investigate. But it’s been a long time since their Girl’s Rule Detective Agency days, and they both hold personal and professional secrets that may rupture their attempts at reconciliation. Plus, you can’t go from estranged best friends to homicide detectives overnight, so it’s a good thing Crossriver has a bevy of lower-stakes cases to close. Of course, most mysteries don’t stay low stakes for long, and all secrets come out eventually.
