You can't teach creative writing, just like you can't teach acting.What you can do is give someone ammunition to show if they have it or not but without that vital necessary spark, you will be at best a hack who can churn out apalling scripts if you can get someone to buy your work in the first place.

Good Dialogue is the breath on the mirror when your character speaks. Bad dialogue is the boom mic clearly in shot.

Writing, like acting or any form of creative expression is about a form of possession. We reach so far beyond the known, the accepted and the expected when we create or express a creative idea or thought that we are no longer on the same plain of reality. We supercede our physical existence by layering another replacement personality 'skin' on top of our own that we then have to convince others is our real skin.

The two schools of acting fall broadly under what do YOU bring to the character versus can you completely lose YOU in the character.

Characters can only become real if they are created as such. Characters with no background will never give you convincing dialogue.

The first part of any creative act is to accept, beyond reproach or any other opinion, that one has something to say that other people will want to hear.
