Hey Natalie, nice to connect
with you
I have a script that was registered with the WGA many years ago. How long before the registration expires?
Might want to ask that in the Screenwriting section of the Lounge.
Hello Mitchell, Nice to meet you! How is life in Montreal? HP
Montreal is great thank you.
Hi guys :-) Each time I've written a script I've only ever used Day or Night in the scene headings. Recently, while reading a few scripts I noticed that some scene headings have "Later" which I assume is to note the transition of time between scenes. Is this only reserved for shooting scripts? Thanks :-)

Moving from room to room means moving the camera, so it's typically two scenes (a cut or cross fade is typical) HOWEVER: you can use a tracking shot to combine the two scenes into a ONESIE. This is where the CONTINUOUS transition works well. (When I see CONTINUOUS, I know I need a follow-cam operator on set.)

In this example, when shooting I would deal with it as individual scenes because I would have to move the camera/lights/mic although I could track Tom by the girls to the bathroom. So, you see where the absolute answer is: MAYBE?
Thanks Doug and Dan. You both make good points. Now I'll be BACK AT THE BAR.
I could always use new ideas, Right now, I am rewriting something and am also starting a rough draft on something new.
