A battle-scarred former special forces operative unearths a mythical Samurai sword, believed to give mystical power to its true owner. Now he must fight to protect his family and prevent a devastating regional conflict.
SYNOPSIS:
Peter Walker is an ex-SAS combatant who quit the regiment and began a new life in Japan, where he tries to forget the past. Even so, he studies Ninjutsu, the art of the Ninja - for as his brother Michael says, “You can take the warrior out of the war, but you can’t take the war out of the warrior.”
Peter visits Michael while on a trip to England. There he discovers a magnificent Samurai sword hidden in the ancestral home of one of his brother’s deceased clients. Later that same night burglars steal the sword from Michael’s home. Peter and Michael give chase, but Michael is killed when his car crashes during the pursuit, leaving Peter devastated.
One of the thieves is Naomi, the Kunoichi granddaughter of the Master Ninja whose family are sworn guardians of the sword. Naomi took the sword as part of a secret plan she made with Michael to ensure Peter realizes his true identity as the Mamoribito. But she is betrayed and the sword is now in the hands of Ohno, the ancient foe of the Mamoribito, who believes the legend that the sword will bring him extraordinary power.
On his return to Japan, Peter is attacked by Ohno's men, seeking to destroy their ancient enemy before he awakens to who he truly is. Naomi intervenes and saves Peter, and they join forces to prevent Ohno from starting a war between Japan and North Korea through a false-flag raid on a nuclear power station, itself part of the Ohno Industries empire. With the help of Naomi's Ninja cousins, they succeed in foiling the attack.
Finally, Peter is reunited with his family, and Naomi recovers from her wounds, ready to be Peter's partner on his newly found path as the Mamoribito - The One Who Protects
