Expand commentI believe three years is long enough to sell a script. I can't just give a screenwriter 30 year contract and the screenwriter does not sell the script,. Once you write the script it is your work, you own it. If after 3 years I had a producer say they wanted to do the script, you would still get paid, we would just sign a new deal. 3 years is as long as I am willing to go on a script contract.
