After her fiancé dies a month before her wedding, a grieving Southern belle, long coddled by friends and family, learns to stand on her own and love again with the one who's always been there.
SYNOPSIS:
Co-written with Krista Gano. Based on the book, "The Weekend Wedding Assistant," by Rachel Gladstone.
JULIA has the perfect life until the worst happens. Her handsome and successful fiancé dies weeks before their wedding while hiking the Appalachian Trail with his best friend and business partner, LINCOLN. Julia, a true Southern belle, is not particularly skilled at taking care of herself and her well-meaning parents and friends, HARPER and LILI, have always helped her get by. As she navigates her grief and learns to come to terms with a radically-changed future, she finds healing through an unlikely job at a wedding venue.
She’s only ever been good at planning her own wedding so why not help others with theirs? Despite the reservations of everyone around her, especially Linc, she embarks on some serious “adulting” for the first time in her life. Linc has been her rock through all of this though his grief has taken a backseat to hers. Julia finds herself struggling with her growing affection for him. I mean, it’s too soon, right?
Turns out Linc is grappling with his own feelings for Julia and after a surprise late night kiss, they agree to spend some time apart. They must travel their own paths to healing - Linc must forgive himself and Julia must learn to stand on her own two feet. As they re-build, the biggest surprise might be that they have fallen in love.
