When $100 million vanishes from the WTC on 9/11, a Wall Street broker’s dream job becomes a nightmare where investors want him dead, the FBI wants him locked up, and Russian mobsters think he stole their money. Based on a true story.
SYNOPSIS:
The biggest 9/11 story you’ve never heard, this sharp, suspenseful drama follows the real-life tale of Brian Picorella, a working-class kid from Staten Island who unwittingly takes part in the largest foreign currency Ponzi scheme in history.
When his shady Russian bosses use 9/11 as the perfect cover to flee the country with $100 million dollars, he realizes he’s been set up as their fall guy. As he goes on the run and plots his revenge, he faces his own culpability, confronts the best friend who betrayed him and finally must choose the hard way out to keep his integrity intact, even if it means going to jail for a crime he didn’t commit.
A motley crew of villains, including a sultry Russian temptress, an Australian hit man on a spiritual quest, and a homicidal, pig-hunting mogul, populates this script.
Carrying it throughout is the chutzpah of the unsuspecting kid from Staten Island who found himself in the middle of an international conspiracy, pitted against colossal forces he couldn’t have imagined, in a world that changed overnight.
Written by former Wall Street Journal reporter Joe Bousquin, with life story rights obtained by Emmy-winning producer Lauren Thompson, Two World Trade is the unexplored 9/11 narrative that's time to be told.
