SYNOPSIS:
The epic saga of King Henry II of England and his family. Right away Henry must face challenges from the King of France as well as from his own powerful, charismatic Archbishop of Canterbury, Thomas Becket. Becket was once Henry's closest friend, but now became the greatest of all thorns in his side, culminating in the infamous “Murder in the Cathedral” that would cast the greatest pall over a king, to that point, in English history. Later, Henry's queen, spurned in favor of a younger, more beautiful Welsh maiden, would incite Henry's own sons into rebellion against him. In the end Henry could control the greatest of England's continental empires, one which would stretch from Scotland to Spain, but he could not control his own family.
