When recent college grad Tommy Poole fails to land a job in his career field, he is forced to take a position at Medieval Village, the second-rate theme park in his hometown.
SYNOPSIS:
MEDIEVAL is a half-hour comedy parodying the modern-day world of the Renaissance Fair – a place where guests dress in period costumes, eat turkey legs, watch hammy knights joust and drink ale from large tankards, while the staff speak in Olde English and take themselves way too seriously. From the writer of "Mail Order Monster," MEDIEVAL draws upon the creator’s own experiences as a “Ren Fair” enthusiast.
The series revolves around everyman Tommy Poole, a recent college grad who fails to spin his English degree into a grownup job and is forced to go to work at Medieval Village -- the local Renaissance Fair theme park that has seen better days. As his temporary gig becomes permanent, Tommy will grow up before our eyes. Meanwhile, the show will also feature an ensemble cast of quirky characters who will each get
their moments in the spotlight, for better or for worse.
Pilot Episode: Tommy's first week at Medieval Village nearly proves to be last when he clashes with theme park ladies man (and egotistical knight) Dirk over the latter’s on-again, off-again romance with theme park wench Tiffany. However, with a little help from the rest of the staff and a hypnotic spell from Merlin, the park's hippie shaman, Tommy not only saves his job, he manages to hold his own in the daily Knights' Tournament.
The Season One Arc will center around Tommy’s struggle to accept his position with Medieval Village as “permanent,” combined with his occasional dalliances with “grown-up” employment opportunities. The season will end on a cliffhanger, as Tommy appears to accept a job with a corporate advertising conglomerate.
