Two former hockey teammates, one a pro-burnout and another a pro-never-was, clash as they take the reins of a struggling ferry service in Casco Bay, Maine, cruising a route populated by colorful locals.

SYNOPSIS:

MICHAEL “MAC” MANUS is the captain and owner of the CASCO QUEEN, a struggling ferry operating in and around the islands of Casco Bay, Maine.

Assisted by REUBEN, a former goalie, and their former COACH and his wife GRACE, Mac is doing all he can to keep things afloat while fending off the insults of RICHARD, owner of a successful Bay tour line.

Then his former best friend and teammate DANNY KELLY, now a pro for the Boston Bruins shows up. With some time off due to a knee injury, Danny arrives in town on a new super yacht that captures the attention and affection of everyone in the harbor, including TAYLOR, who runs the Casco Queen concessions. As Grace warns her, though, Danny’s charm is usually short-lived.

Back in town to sell his family home, it doesn’t take long for old wounds to resurface. As Mac remembers it, when the day came for his and Danny’s tryout for the Bruins, Danny never showed and, instead, left on his trail for fame and glory. Only when Coach explains why Danny left does Mac Discover that the Bruins had never wanted him at all and only conceded to let him try because Danny asked.

Realizing that not making the team would ruin Mac’s love for the game, he sacrificed their friendship, so that Joe could continue to enjoy his love of the sport. When confronted, Danny confesses to that and much more. It turns out that his knee injury was caused by some off-ice extracurriculars with the coach’s daughter, and he has been released. Now with a gimpy knee and no team, he is forced to sell the family home in order to cover his expenses.

When he hears that the Queen is in trouble, Danny offers to invest in the operation. Danny and Mac agree to be teammates once again. With his perpetually unseen former Bruin teammate REMY, who was also let go for the same event, in tow Danny agrees to stay.

On the way out of the harbor they fire a metaphorical shot across Richard’s bow by “accidentally” taking out his prized antique runabout.
