Four young people in their forties, who live different lives and have personalities that are similar to the main characters from the Emmy-award winning television show "Moonlighting", get together and watch an episode of the show.
SYNOPSIS:
This short film is an homage to the "Moonlighting" television series which aired on ABC from 1985-1989.
Paula Grayson, an actress who has the personality of the Maddie Hayes character on "Moonlighting", plays a part in a fictional soap opera, finishes her part in a scene and then, as the director shouts "Cut!", she and the other actor in the scene and the crew all say their goodbyes and agree to meet in the fall. Paula, who is in Hollywood, California, leaves the studio and gets into a cab and goes to her hotel to pack and board a plane back to her home in New Jersey. When she gets home, she has an idea and calls Alan Slater, a womanizer who has the personality of the David Addison Jr. character and a fan of the show, and asks him if he wants to come over to watch "Moonlighting". In his David Addison-esque way, he agrees, much to the chagrin and possibly regret of Paula. Then, Paula does the same and calls Christina Parker, a nerdy girl who has the personality of the Agnes DiPesto character and answers the phone in rhyme and agrees when Paula invites her to her house and after the phone call ends, Christina tells her boyfriend, Ted Harper, who has the personality of the Herbert Viola character, about Paula's invite and he agrees to go with her. They are also fans of "Moonlighting".
When the others come to Paula's house, Paula and Alan go through their witty banter just like the characters on the show. Then, they watch the show and after the show ends, they talk about what they like most about the series. Then, Christine and Ted profess their love for each other and compare their relationship to the relationship of Agnes and Herbert. Paula and Alan, however, display the same love/hate relationship as David and Maddie when Alan suggests that he and Paula should start a relationship like Christine and Ted. Christine and Ted watch them with silent frowns on their faces as they listen to Paula and Alan argue.
