LOGLINE:

A legendary activist's 80th birthday brings together A John Huston-type director, his wife, a photographer, and several others in Manhattan.

SYNOPSIS:

On his 80th birthday, civil rights pioneer Joe Gregory is being honored with an social justice award in New York City. One of his closest friends, film director Jack Ellis is in town for the celebrations. He is also in town to finalize buying the options to a book he plans to make into a feature (he has already written the screenplay for the movie.) This deal will involve the late author's daughter Amanda. Joining him for the dinner is his wife, Veronica, who recently stepped down as president of his production company (for reasons unclear) and is at a crossroads in her own life. Also at a crossroads is Joe Gregory's west coast nephew, Eddie, who is trying to break through as a photographer. These five characters (along with a few others) will cross paths, make major life choices, and confront their own unhappiness and loneliness.
