GHOST OF A CHANCE

GHOST OF A CHANCE
By Jerry Robbins

GENRE: Musical, Animation
LOGLINE:

A troupe of deceased performers, who haunt an old London theater, enlist the help of a boy and his grandpa to put on a benefit show to save their home from the wrecking ball.

SYNOPSIS:

GHOST OF A CHANCE (animation or live action) is in the same vein as “Casper” and “ParaNorman.”

The old Epoch Theatre is haunted by the five greatest ghostly divas ever to perform on the London stage. A newly appointed security guard enters the abandoned space with his grandson, Ben. Upon hearing that the theater will be demolished for a parking lot, the ghosts make themselves visible in hopes that these two can help save their home. Ben has the idea to perform a benefit show in order to buy the theatre. Rehearsals begin immediately!

Meanwhile Ben auditions for the role of Romeo in his school play, despite the fact that he's just awful at it. Wanting to coach him, a pompous Shakespearian ghost invades Ben's body and lands him the part! Ben appears to be a brilliant actor, but how long can his puppeteer keep this exhausting charade a secret, and how much of Ben’s split-personality will his Juliet tolerate? The owner of the theatre finds out about the fundraiser and arrives driving the wrecking ball himself! As panic sets in, the ghosts scramble to uncover a treasure hidden in the theater that can save its existence. As the wrecking ball swings, the treasure is found and halts the demolition in the nick of time. The theatre is saved! Ben ultimately performs Romeo flawlessly in his school play—with no ethereal help. Finding themselves with a runaway hit, the showghosts continue to play to sold-out crowds and become the toast of London.
