A teenage girl and her two younger siblings find themselves in a nightmare when a comical but deadly psychotic clown follows them home from the circus.
SYNOPSIS:
Signs meets 10 Cloverfield Lane in this terrifying alien invasion horror based on events experienced by a real American family in 1955. A young boy’s thirteenth birthday party on his family’s isolated farm is interrupted by the arrival of extraterrestrials and their flying saucer.
At first, the boy’s family believes their son’s sighting is nothing more than one of his tall tales, but as the night drags on it becomes clear they are not alone on their little farm, or in the universe. The little grey aliens may look small, but when their actions reveal them as hostile, and the bullets from the family’s guns prove powerless, what began as a celebration of life becomes a bitter fight to the death. Miles from the nearest town, and with the phone lines cut, the family must use everything at their disposal to keep from becoming the next subjects of their new visitors' horrible experiments.
Coverage by "Screenplay Gurus" - "The macabre TULIPS is a horror story with nail-biting tension, scares, thrills and a dash of laughs. Based on the Clown Statue Urban Legend, the story finds its own level and delivers the goods right up to the horrifying twist ending. This is a well-written script with believable characters and dialogue in realistic situations. It is a worthy addition to the Teen Scream sub-genre."

Thank you for your comments, Amin! I'm very happy you read the script! I liked your comments about the ending and thought they were spot on - you may want to check the last page :)
I didn't want to show what drove Tulips to do what he does -- nothing really triggered him, or set him off -- I do mention his life prior to the circus, and I thought that was enough. He is a Michael Myers-type -- no conscience, no remorse or emotional feelings of any kind -- those elements are just not wired in his brain. The clown persona hides the evil. If it were a longer movie, I could give the supporting teen characters some more depth -- but for the most part they're red shirt fodder in a horror movie. In the end, I wanted a fun popcorn movie that would jolt people out of their seats. Thanks again - happy writing! JR
