When a talent agent stumbles across a brilliant blind comedian who no longer performs in large public venues, he makes it his mission to get the comic a streaming special and enough money to put his teenager through school. Whether the comic wants it or not.

SYNOPSIS:

This is a romantic comedy/dramedy that has garnered a fair bit of interest.

Dub is a forty-something blind divorced single dad who has just swiped “right” (and been on a few dates) with the girl of his dreams. Beth, his new girlfriend, sees in him a crazy amount of comedy potential and in the opening scenes orchestrates a meeting between Dub and a comedian on tour who has recently completed his third streaming special. The comedian recognizes the potential in Dub’s comedy and realizes the struggle that has come from being a visually impaired comic for over twenty years and is immediately taken with Dub’s efforts to help his fourteen year old teenager navigate comedy. ?The comedian sets up a “showcase” for Dub to open three shows for him and then continue on the tour. With Beth and Nick (the teen) in tow, they set out to perform twenty two opening sets culminating in a chance for Dub to have his own streaming one hour comedy special. The comedian has not told Dub that the special would be Dub’s chance to headline, only that he could be on the streaming special. But he works throughout the tour to perfect Dub’s jokes about seeing eye-dogs, raising a teenagerand how to fall in love and engage in social media while blind. The last scenes are of Dub performing for the special and realizing it’s his show and how much of his material is really funny.
