In the sleepy town of Center, Texas, a young upstart Mayor-to-be, VICTORIA KERN, mistakenly embraces the trappings of a mysterious limousine, the ill-fated Limo from JFK’s last day in Dallas, dumped in town right before the election.
SYNOPSIS:
In quaint Center, TX (pop. 1963) twenty something, VICTORIA KERN is running for mayor against the fifty year incumbent, Mayor ISAAC. You see, “Center never believed in no term limits.” And this election promises to be unlike any before it. Not only is someone actually running against Mayor Isaac, but right after Victoria makes her fated announcement to run, a strange Limousine (the very one from Kennedy's Fateful day in Dallas) mysteriously appears in town. Victoria mistakenly embraces the Limo as a means to get elected. She starts a limousine service. "Best thing for Center, Texas,” she thinks.
After riding in the limo, the residents of Center start to take on the personalities of the characters that made JFK's day in Dallas so memorable. After riding in the Limo, Elbie, the mortuary owner, who Victoria wants as her vice-mayor, suddenly has much higher aspirations. Elbie now sees himself as the all powerful Mayor, doing what he can to undermine Victoria in a similar way that LBJ tried to undermine JFK. Enis, the town mechanic, is infused with the spirit of a disgruntled Lee Harvey Oswald, directing his anger towards the government that allowed this Limo to take away the town’s need for a mechanic.
The Mob, Lee Harvey Oswald, Jack Ruby, J. Edgar Hoover, and others are all represented in this farcical tale of Fate... after all, this is no ordinary Limo. Only one question remains: can Victoria still become mayor and triumph over the Limo before it corrupts the entire town?
“Lone Star Limo” explores the parallels between one of the most iconic moments in American history and small town America. Like all great farcical comedies, the funniest moments lie close to the truth. All of the characters in this movie develop over time, revealing profound new personal insights and emotions that are sure to touch an audience and draw viewers in (with a helluva lot of laughs along the way).
