A terrible man-hater woman and misogynist man wake up in an alternate matriarchal world where she serves as the lead marketing person for the most popular men's rights movement in the US, while he comprehensively experiences to be treated as exactly how he ever treated women in the patriarchal world before. They scramble in this new world and gradually transition from hating each other's guts to gradually understanding the "opposite" social group that they've been discriminating against forever.
SYNOPSIS:
Xena is a longterm victim of sexism in our current world, which has made her who wishes to soar free from the problems bothering a modern woman, including all reproductive duties and unfair social treatment. After being fired by her sexist boss, Xena channels her anger through throwing hate against men and wishing for a world where all her “woman problems” don’t exist while drinking at a friend’s place late into night. Next morning when Xena wakes up, she realizes that something is off—— She is in a flipped-gender 2020 world where sexism against men is outrageous!!! She feels ECSTACTIC that she can finally exploit men in the way she has been constantly exploited.
However…
Xena soon finds out that she is a public figure in this world AND the lead marketing person of the most popular men’s rights movement in the US! Meaning, her career would be totally ruined if her actions are considered sexist against men! Not what she had wished. The only good thing is that, it pays damn well, all thanks to her public influence!
LUCKILY, in a way, Xena meets another person from her original world with whom she thinks she is on the same page. But this person turns out to be the WORST misogynist…alive! - Yosef.
Yosef is a firm believer that biological differences are what have defined our world to be patriarchal. He’s ignorant and a narcissist. He refuses to accept the reality of being in a world where he has no power. At first, he doesn’t care about the ongoing men’s rights movement; all he wants is to re-enjoy all the patriarchal benefits he once owned.
In Season 1, Xena scrambles; adapting to being a hypocrite who publicly fights for men’s rights and takes on various sexist cases, while privately milking her new situation as good as possible. Guess what? Her reckless actions get exposed. Her job comes under threat. Although she doesn’t really care about if she plummets to be the most hated person by men, she definitely doesn’t want to lose her luxurious NYC apartment!
On the other hand, Yosef comprehensively experiences to be treated as exactly how he ever treated women in the patriarchal world before. He’s even blessed to go through menstruation! Wonder how? Yosef wonders it too! That Yosef tries to figure out how reproduction works in this world yet he never can, is one of the funniest part of S1.
In Season 2, Xena starts to recognize toxic femininity (as opposed to toxic masculinity in our world) and becomes more empathetic toward men, and hence mobilizes herself to take actions for men’s rights and rebuild her public figure. Yosef, while realizing that his search for a way back home is fruitless, finally decides to join the men’s rights movement campaign to win back his respect. Soon enough, he becomes the icon of the movement, but is forced to confront the dilemma of following what powerful women direct him to do, or else he won’t stand a chance of changing the law.
After the journey in both Season 1 and 2, Xena and Yosef gradually embrace each other’s
Differences and finally have their first real communication. Then…will they fight together since then?
