A young woman wants to walk the Appalachian trail alone, which unnerves her wealthy father.  He hires detectives to walk the entire trip near her, pretending to be hikers.  She meets a guy along the way who the detectives photograph with the daughter and tell the father that he works for them. When she thinks she discovers that he works for the detectives, she dumps him, until things get straightened out.
