QUENTIN and his friends CLIVE, VICKY and IRIS THEKSON BLUE, BLUEY to her friends, together with his adopted parents UNWIN MACPHERSON and his wife MEL arrive at Macpherson Manor in the middle of the night and are terrified by its appearance, not helped by the thunder storm that rages overhead. MAGGIE WHITE, Mel’s sister joins them and the old grounds keeper JAMES sudden appearances add to the scares of the night.

Exploring the house the following day, the kids find a wealth of fascinating rooms. They spot someone walking the grounds. MR KERR, Unwin explains, an Historian looking into the Macpherson history.

Everyone settles into routine, the kids enjoying their Christmas break together.

One evening, when the old grandfather clock chimes, everything changes.

Unwin tells them of the Macpherson Legend, of the Jacobite uprising and the missing gold entrusted to his ancestor Cluny of Macpherson, the first and only known clue, still unsolved.

Quentin works out the clue and they set out to solve the mystery of the missing treasure, first stop, the graveyard, where they find the next clue.

But they are not alone. First, they sense someone is watching them. The next night, they are awoken by the jangling of chains, the rattling of door knobs, and the startled screams of the girls.

Convinced it is not a real ghost; the children search the house finding a hidden passage.

Christmas Eve, Quentin cannot sleep and sneaks downstairs and comes face to face with the Ghost of Cluny, restless until the Jacobite Gold is found and the good name of Macpherson restored. Quentin promises he will find the gold.

Christmas Day is a festive affair, with a slap up breakfast, present giving, and a sumptuous dinner followed by an evening of karaoke singing.

The next day, Quentin discovers a hidden room behind the fireplace, full of treasure, The Macpherson family fortune and the next clue to the missing Jacobite Gold.

That night, Quentin and his friends set up an ambush and capture the intruder. It’s Mr Kerr! Handcuffed, he is handed over to the police.

The following day, Maggie leads the kids through the tunnel to see where it leads. They find themselves in the old chapel where they find the last clue to the lost gold.

Whilst they ponder, Unwin, Maggie and Mel take on Quentin and his friends in a paint ball challenge, winning a tense battle, Quentin and his friends having to clean the house as a forfeit.

Unwin and Mel take Quentin and his friends to Scottish HQ where they are prepped for a Mission to recover vital information from a Dead Drop.

Retrieving the information, they learn the Reynolds, Zackery's (Quentin's nemesis at school) parents have defected to I.O.N and have stolen a list of accounts giving them access to vast sums of seized monies.

A second mission sees Quentin and his friends enter the Reynolds Hotel. Unwin and Clive entering their room to switch the list with a fake one, allowing them to track access back to its source. The Reynolds make an unexpected return, forcing Unwin and Clive to climb down the outside of the Hotel.

Mission success. The list was swapped in time.

Holiday over, Unwin laments they hadn’t managed to solve the last clue.

Quentin admits he’d worked it out and reveals the whereabouts of the gold. The Grandfather Clock.

Unwin dashes to the Great Hall and the clock to discover it has been artfully painted to conceal the gold.

The good name of Macpherson can finally be reclaimed. Delighted Unwin sees the ghost of Cluny at the top of the stairs and raises his hand in farewell.
