SYNOPSIS:

TONAL COMPS: BUGSY MALONE

THE COWBOY ADVENTURE

FBI Special Agent LUKE SPENCER (30s), an old friend of BEN O'BRIEN snr (late 30s) aka Dad, arrives at the house, asking for Ben's aid in finding his grandfather, ARTHUR (80s).

More to the story, Luke shares his grandfather's obsession with an old western legend about Jessie James and a missing gold shipment. Jessie and his James-Younger Gang robbed a train, taking $3000 in cash and valuables and gold $75,000 back in the day. Its value today would be in the millions. Luke even has a treasure map and one clue.

Let the tears of Jessie show you the way.

The O'Brien's arrive in Tombstone and, once appropriately dressed as the Town's new Lawmen, Ben jnr enters the Salon.

BEN: You must be Black Jim, the four flusher miscreant the sheriff told me about.

A gunfight ensues, with Lisa, Tina, and Ben firing their pistols, paint balls flying, and Black Jim falling across the table, which collapses beneath him.

BARTENDER: What about the sheriff? You shot the sheriff?

BEN: Yeah, I shot the Sheriff.

PIANO PLAYER: What about his deputy?

BEN: I shot no Deputy. Point him out and we’ll see him dead.

Another family arrives. The GOODBROUGH's. MICHAEL and ROSE, together with their kids, twin boys, EDWARD (15) and THOMAS (15), and their youngest, ELOISE (8).

ELOISE: Oh, brother. Seriously? We're finally here and all you two can do is make cow eyes at the girls.

Later, the O'Brien family takes part in the Gun Fight at the OK Corral.

Early the next morning, the O’Brien family join the Wagon Train Experience hot on the trail of Arthur. The Davandish Brothers, BUTCH, JAKE, and JEFFERY are an unsavoury-looking trio of cowboys in charge of the campground.

At camp, the rain pours and the girl's spot a strange rock formation, a skull, water pouring from the eyes.

Early the next morning, Dad leads his family up into the hills to explore the skull rock formation. They find a tunnel and enter.

Thomas, Edward, and Eloise watch as the Davandish Brothers leave the camp and decide to follow.

Inside the caves, they find Arthur tied up.

Following the tears of Jessie, they enter the wet tunnel, emerging into a huge grotto with large pools of black viscous oil.

Dad suggests the black water is oil. Ben thinks he's rich and fills his water pistol with oil, hitches up his holster belt with his two paint ball pistols and runs after Dad as he leads the family into a dark tunnel directly ahead of the rock train formation.

The Davandish Brothers enter the grotto. Jeffery falls into one of the pools and slowly sinks. Butch and Jake pull him out, before following the O'Brien's into the tunnel.

Edward, Thomas, and Eloise watch and listen to the Davandish Brothers and realise this is not an excursion experience but serious stuff and agree Thomas and Eloise must return to the camp and get help, whilst Edward continues to follow, armed with Eloise’s oil filled water pistol.

MUM: Jessie’s tears will show you the way.

Mum points to a high ledge with two openings, water trickling out of both.

Dad hoists Ben up and disappears.

The Davandish Brothers arrive.

Jake and Jeffery climb up to the ledge only to receive a face full of oil from Ben’s water pistol. Edward charges, squirting Eloise's water pistol of oil into Butch's face.

Paint balls fly as Lisa and Tina fire their guns. Dad tackles Butch. Mum punches Jake in the nose. Thomas and Eloise arrive, bringing help and the Davandish Brothers are taken away.

The Goodbrough's and O'Brien's decide to celebrate with ice cream. Three Scoops each.

Ben offers to pay and holds up a gold coin. He also finds a gold seam as he kicks his feet against the ledge and knocks out a piece of rock.

BEN: The O’Brien Detectives strike again.

MUM: He’s right. Not only did we find Arthur, we found the missing gold and the gold mine of legend. Not bad. Not bad at all.

Thank you for your time
