Immediately after the death of his elder child Ismail and Khadija decides to flee Syria with their other two children, FAHAD, 5 years and GOHAR,3 years. When they reach Syria and Turkish border, they see border guards patrolling the border, ready to shoot anyone who would enter the Turkish border. Ismail and his family takes the risk of entering Turkey in the midst of a war between the ISIS and the border guards. Moreover to save Khadija, Ismail shoots a border guard and they successfully cross the border and enters Kilis of Turkey. There they meet Ahmed, Ismail’s friend who has once fled Syria to save himself. With Ahmed’s help and Khadija’s continuous forcing Ismail finally makes false passport and documents and also gets couple of important visas like USA and Schengen visa. In Turkey Khadija enrolls the kids in school but stops them from going to school considering what happened to them in school back in Syria. As they start to live a normal life in Turkey, one day Ismail runs in to a police while at work and learns that they are looking for border guard murderers. Together with his wife and kids Ismail decides to elope Kilis and visit Istanbul. They book a flight to Paris and leaves Turkey. Once in Paris they go to ALIYA’S house who is an old classmate of Khadija’s. Khadija faces both cultural shock and discrimination in her house and the family finds it difficult to live in the house considering Aliya has a different lifestyle from them. To get her freedom one day Aliya forces them to get out of the house. With no place to go and no closed ones living nearby Ismail decides to camp in Stalingrad station where thousands of refugees are camping. There they meet a couple KHALID and FATIMA who seems to be very friendly. While on their stay in the camp Ismail looks for a job and Khadija tries her best to look for food and make the living environment for her kids appropriate inside the camp. After a lot of trouble they get a good news from Ismail’s elder brother who has booked a ticket for them to live with them in USA. Thrilled, they finally pack their bags but on the last day of their stay in Stalingrad station Khalid sexually assaults Khadija. Khadija kills Khalid to save herself and is mentally distraught after the incident. They elope from the Stalingrad station immediately and leave the body in the tent. With a flight to catch and his wife to take care of Ismail becomes extremely frustrated. They finally make it to Newyork but the news of a new Government imposing a travel ban and refugee ban saddens and frustrates the couple. With extreme dilemma of whether to stay or leave USA they get in to a car with Ismail’s brother, RAHMAN and his wife SAIRA. As the family reach near Michigan, the toll security checks the car and asks them to get out of the car. Ismail immediately knows that the securities are aware of who they are and where they are from. Ismail, Khadija and their kids elopes from the area and goes to a nearby factory.
