When a well-intentioned act of kindness by a grieving widow sets off a sequence of consequences that ultimately changes not only her life but threatens to split a homeless family apart.

SYNOPSIS:

Facing her first holiday season alone, Daphne, a young mother and wife who lost her family in an accident, finds comfort in helping out in a temporary food kitchen for the homeless. There she meets a young girl in the line who reminds her of the daughter she lost. When Malcolm, the young girls father and a decorated war Veteran becomes ill, Daphne offers to watch his children while he gets checked out at the Emergency Room. While there he is diagnosed with pneumonia and is admitted. Daphne gains temporary custody of the children by the courts but when the Guardian ad Litem comes to visit she is faced with trying to retain custody or have the children taken into the Child Welfare system.
