I'm currently in pre-production on my very first feature, a documentary about the fight for affirmation and equality of LGBTQ people within the Christian faith. However, I know nothing about raising money and crowdfunding. Could I do an IndieGoGo or Kickstarter? Ask to partner with charities? This topic, this fight is very close to my heart, and I want to give it the attention it deserves, so I want to give it my all.
It's like asking for a date: if the first one says no, move on to the next. Use both. I like your topic. If I hadn't been hit by the IRS, I would finance you, I like the idea of your project. I love to see it when it is finished.

Grants are good... or you could start talking creatively about your film in a blockchain blog and earn money.
Hello, everyone! My name is Rebekah McAuliffe. I am a producer, screenwriter, director, and cinematographer, but I guess you could have gathered that from my profile. I've mostly done screenplays, novels, and microfilms, but I am currently diving in to directing my very first feature film.
Welcome!

This is a network for you, built by you. Like most things in life, the more you participate, the greater the rewards. We ask all new members to pay it forward by inviting 5 fellow creatives to the network and by spreading the word of Stage 32 through other social media sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. The more creatives, the stronger the network. The stronger the network, the more opportunities.
Thanks for joining the movement and for being a part of this most talented and inspiring community. I very much look forward to your contributions.
Thanks, and have a creative day!
RB

The plan for now is to create a proof of concept/short version to shop at film festivals to garner attention and funding for it. I have a couple of interviewees set up and am sending out emails for partnerships, other interviews, etc.
