SYNOPSIS:

After completing an active tour of duty in Iraq, Jake Cunningham returns to small town in Alaska where he discovers that his fiancee, Hannah, has left him for the local sheriff, Michael Richardson—the same man who used to bully Jake back in high school.

Broken and emotionally fragile, Jake retreats into alcoholism and isolation. He spends his days hunting and walking in the woods where he unexpectedly comes across a black wolf caught in a trap. Over the next couple of days, Jake sets the wolf free and feeds it large chunks of elk meat. Slowly, the wolf regains its health and disappears back into the wilderness.

Months later, Jake takes a job as a claims adjuster at an insurance company. One day, he is called in to investigate a car crash. During his investigation, Jake examines one of the trucks involved in the crash and discovers millions of dollars stashed inside the dashboard.
