Pedro is one of the most feared bulls of the arena - No Matador has ever been his equal and Pedro thinks today's match will be no different... except today, the Matador is different - The bullfighter is a lady.
SYNOPSIS:
This short is not meant to glamorize the sport of bullfighting, rather, it is loosely based on the final fight of Conchita Cintron in the arena in 1949. She defied the command of the Presidente, fighting on foot and choosing to let the bull live. She was arrested on her way out but was soon pardoned by the regional Governor who succumbed to the heartfelt protest of the crowd to set her free.
I hope you enjoy reading the attached treatment I wrote.

I must say that I hate the sport of bullfighting. But I really liked your story. Maybe you could make this short with Rogelio Camarillo if he wants to read. Don't know. Could be that he still has the bullfight cloth he uaed for his short film. I would say look him up on Facebook. Best, Rutger
Hi Rutger Oosterhoff Thanks for the rating and feedback, I appreciate it!
A short film of mine, "Vincent" just got selected at Dubai Film Festival by invitation, One of the talents they celebrate is Itziar Ituño Compared to your photo, she would be perfect, beautiful and fierce! https://www.dubai-festival.com/ https://www.imdb.com/video/vi1837810201/?ref_=vp_rv_ap_0
James, I know that you have your ideas planned out in your head. But your work struck me, and that seldom happens.

Rutger Oosterhoff congrats on the selection, I do hope it's a fantastic journey and showing!
The photo used above is just something I found online - not one of mine. Nevertheless, I agree, Itziar Ituño is beautiful and in that world where ideas become films, she would be perfect. I am just using Stage32 as a digital notebook to jot down the ideas that come to me upon inspiration. This one in particular was based loosely on Conchita's story from her book, "Memoirs of a Bullfighter" and the icing on the cake was one of Elvis' songs from the film, "Fun in Acapulco" released way back in '63, where Elvis' character woos a lady bullfighter (Elsa Cárdenas) and one of his songs is about the bull falling in love with the beautiful matadora. It was all too much for me to resist!
