In the Middle Ages, two warring military commanders, one Christian and one Muslim, team up to stop an alien force from weaponizing the Bubonic plague to annihilate humanity.

SYNOPSIS:

“Dark Horde” is about Franco Ravenna, a Genoese soldier in 14th century Crimea, who fights to defend the Black Sea city of Caffa from the invading Mongol army. When the Mongol leader, Jani Beg Khan, launches Bubonic plague-infected soldiers over the city walls, the Genoese must abandon the city. However, a small group of soldiers and citizens are left stranded. Franco leads the group to a nearby village, which is soon attacked by a terrifying alien creature. Determined to protect the remaining Genoese people, Franco approaches Jani Beg for help. He is turned down initially, but then Jani Beg's second-in-command, Zenjin Bator, enlists him to help find and destroy what turns out to be at least two creatures. The alliance between the Muslim and Christian soldiers is an uneasy one, but with time running out they must work together to save humanity.
