Heartbroken guy. Eight quirky girls. Speed dating.
SYNOPSIS:
E.M.L. CRYSIS, also known as PATRICK SNOW, is a male in his
mid-30’s who is going through an early mid-life crisis since his
girlfriend broke up with him. The break up made him painfully
aware that he lives a dull life. All he wants to do is go home
and watch the football game on t.v. and drink a few beers until
he falls asleep on the couch. But his friend has other plans for
him.
His friend texts him about going out to a bar, having a few
drinks and meeting women. Patrick wants nothing to do with it
but his friend, who is determined to get him out of his rut,
finally convinces him to go. What he’s not telling Patrick is
that they are really going to a speed dating event at a bar.
Patrick jokingly demands the payment of a case of beer from his
friend for making him do this but as time goes on the payment
increases to two cases as his night gets strange.
Hilarity ensues as Patrick meets a series of odd women who are
so quirky because of things from their past, medical conditions
or personality issues. Some of these women include Holly opened
up a flower shop after her boyfriend broke up with her. Susie
told him she’s bound to have an allergic reaction at any moment.
Betty is extremely shy and doesn’t say much.
Patrick is ready to throw in the towel when the last woman sits
down. Sophie is as relieved as Patrick that the evening is
almost over. After talking a bit about their strange evening,
Sophie asks Patrick to meet her for coffee the next day. She
hands him a piece of paper with her phone number, the address of
the coffee shop and the time to meet then gets up, smiles and
says goodbye.
