In this adult animated sitcom, Ishtar - the Babylonian goddess of sex and war - is banished from her Pantheon to the Bible Belt town of God’s Eye, where she plots her conquest of heaven… but not before she grades the midterm papers for her Ancient History class at Oliver Cromwell High School!

SYNOPSIS:

Ishtar, the Babylonian goddess of sex and war, is violently banished from her pantheon by the God King Marduk due to her mismanagement of temple orgies and an inability to stop the concept of "shame" from spreading throughout the world.

She crash lands on the outskirts of the pious Bible Belt town of God's Eye. There, she is discovered by the Wigglesworth Family - Elijah, the husband and father; Prue, the wife and mother; Seth, the son and brother and Eowyn, the daughter and sister.

The Wigglesworths bring Ishtar to their home where they provide her with room and board. They also help her find a job at the Oliver Cromwell Academy High School as the advanced placement history teacher.

As a history teacher, Ishtar uses her powers to bring her students on voyages through time and space and teach them about major world events firsthand, much like Ms. Valerie Frizzle from "The Magic School Bus."

Only the Wigglesworth family know that she is a goddess, and her presence conflicts with their deeply held Christian beliefs.

In the midst of all these events, Ishtar has plans of her own. She aspires to return to her pantheon and overthrow Marduk, its king and leader, so she will rule supreme over the universe. However, her ambitions conflict with grading papers for her history class!

Babylon Beyond! is an adult animated sitcom about a goddess' numerous schemes to ascend to heaven and how they are undone by her own pride. It is also about how Ishtar builds a bond with her hapless adoptive family and the students whose drab school lives are changed by her wondrous sojourns through history.
