By Fredric Sinclair

GENRE: Art House, Drama
LOGLINE:

When a mysterious voice behind a door begins talking to Harry, he is visited by the ghosts of a horrific past, prompting him to contact a childhood friend who may be his last hope of redemption.

SYNOPSIS:

LETHE is a stage play script. Set in contemporary New York City, LETHE is the story of Harry, a young man struggling to conquer demons, both in his memories and in his daily life. As a child, Harry was told stories of ancient Greek gods, and fancied himself Apollo, strong and terrible and not troubled with thinking or feeling like a mortal human. This coping mechanism seemed to work in his youth, but as a man he becomes haunted by memories of a troubled childhood and a mystical River Lethe, invented by a family member to help him forget his sorrows. And yet, there was a real River Lethe that Harry cannot forget – a river near his New Hampshire home where he used to swim with his brother Stevie, his friend Elizabeth and his uncle Dan. What happened by that river so many years ago? And can he face his future without knowing the truth he’s worked so hard to deny?
