MIDNIGHT HUNTERS
By Val Chernyavskiy

GENRE: Horror, Action
LOGLINE:

When an elderly Japanese grandmother and her team of hunters seize a school in a quiet American town to save the world from impending evil, they face resistance from a determined sheriff and special forces who unwittingly unleash horrors from a parallel world.

SYNOPSIS:

Mrs. Chu, an elderly Japanese grandmother, and her team of hunters, armed with strange weapons, take over a middle school in a quiet American town. Their goal is to retrieve an artifact from the school museum that will help them combat an imminent evil. They release the children but face opposition from Sheriff O'Grady and the arriving special forces.

Despite Mrs. Chu's warnings about the great danger, Sheriff O'Grady and the special forces plan to storm the school. When the special forces enter the school and open fire on the hunters, they break the protective barrier, allowing nightmare creatures from a parallel world to enter ours. These beings are driven solely by the desire to kill and devour.

In the ensuing brutal battle, almost all the hunters and special forces soldiers are killed, leaving only Mrs. Chu and one of her hunters alive. The creatures escape the school and begin attacking peaceful residents of the town, killing and eating them. Realizing her mistake and understanding her responsibility, Mrs. Chu decides to return the artifact to its original place. As a result, the creatures start disappearing from the town, restoring order.

Mrs. Chu, who has come to understand the importance and consequences of her actions, transforms from a selfish old woman pursuing her own goals into an altruist willing to sacrifice herself to save others. Her final words serve as a warning and a lesson: "Do not touch what must not be touched."
