THE EMPEROR'S MEDALLION

THE EMPEROR'S MEDALLION
By Richard Galbraith

GENRE: Historical, Drama
LOGLINE:

A wealthy swashbuckler is determined to save France from tyranny during the French Revolution while wearing Charlemagne’s cherished medallion, only realizing the rebellion is bigger than his ego, and his passion for an Irish lass.

SYNOPSIS:

Jean-Paul La Fontaine, swashbuckler, philosopher-statesman, and a revered member of a noble family, wages an unrelenting campaign against anyone who dares to threaten France’s sovereignty during the first several years of the French Revolution to save the nation from utter chaos.

His chance meeting with Sophie Macpherson, an Irish lass residing in France, complicates his life more than he can ever imagine: not understanding his passionate fascination for her. His nemesis, Henri Jacques Dumas, poor and desolate, never gives in to Jean-Paul’s whims and spends his days relentlessly hunting Jean-Paul down.

Despite this, Jean-Paul courageously helps liberate the streets of Orléans and Paris from anarchy while riding with the National Guard. Boldly, he never relinquishes his passion for a French republic, and witnesses some of the bloodiest rebellions carried out by angry citizens hell-bent on change. Determined to prevent foreseeable invasions by brutal nations, he endlessly supports the French Army when duty calls.

In the end, between fending off Dumas and wooing Sophie, Jean-Paul valiantly tries in vain to rescue France from the madness of Robespierre and his Reign of Terror.
