EVERY MAN FOR HIMSELF

EVERY MAN FOR HIMSELF
By Mike Johnston

GENRE: Comedy
LOGLINE:

Using the metro bus system, a band of misfit commuters builds a sophisticated network of resources to take down corrupt city officials.

SYNOPSIS:

Andy, a bus driver, gets transferred to a new route in the city. On his first day, the regular riders, including Bingo Mary, Darla, Gitch, and others, spark a protest against police corruption after Darla reveals she was abused by her cop boyfriend Nash but the police refused to help her.

With help from a well-connected homeless man named Indian Bob, the riders hatch an elaborate plan to get evidence of police cover-ups by rigging a charity softball game between cops and firefighters. The plan goes awry but they still manage to get Nash arrested after a thumb drive of evidence is leaked to the media.

Meanwhile, Andy becomes an unexpected leader of the burgeoning bus rider revolution, much to the surprise of his wife Grace. The deputy mayor, Rome, tries to infiltrate and undermine the movement by sending her intern Sophie to spy on them. However, Sophie decides to support the riders instead and feed them information.

The story ends with Grace giving Andy advice on how to organize and lead the movement as it grows beyond just the riders on his route. Overall, it's a quirky tale of unlikely activists banding together to fight corruption and bring change to their city.
