SYNOPSIS:
RICKY (17) is a white street kid who hails from Staten Island, NYC aka "Shaolin". School’s out for the last time and the whole summer's in front of him. Life is simple for Rick; he's hip-hop to the bone and swears by Shaolin natives Wu-Tang Clan, while his homeboy E follows the new-wave of auto-tune-heavy raps that have taken over the scene. Naturally, they degrade and insult each other every chance they get as homies do. Ricky's with RONNIE (Ronelle) -- she's black, beautiful and smart and he's crazy about her. Things are sweet until the day his mother picks up her old high-school boyfriend from jail as a favor. His shady cellmate with the sinister past -- out the same morning -- changes everything, and what starts off well, spirals into a nightmare problem that only a showdown will solve. (I had a very specific vision for this story in regards to character, culture and location, but I could've wrote this in any setting really.)
