SYNOPSIS:

2089, the world is covered by dust, a ring with buildings floats above the earth.

Tyler and his best friend Jake get by running a garage on Earth, Leonard joins them. It turns out that Leonard is responsible for the dust, his engine caused the ecological disaster, it was pirated and used against his intentions. Clementine, Leonard's niece visits. She and Tyler "Cloudgaze" on the roof, a dust devil ignites, Tyler has a Eureka moment!

Tyler has decided to live with a purpose and fix the world. Tyler and Jake go to the race track for data, no use, their only option is to race. Tyler and Jake observe dust devils, Tyler charges in, gets hit by lighting. Clementine tells Tyler to stop, he keeps going, she leaves, Leonard reluctantly decides to help them. The two make an engine in a race car, they name it "DUSTER".

The two need to prove their invention in a race to get a patent. Leonard warns Tyler that his spark will get snuffed out. Clementine tries to stop Tyler from racing. Race time! Tyler has a eureka moment, he says goodbye to Jake and Clementine.

DUST IGNITION! It worked! Tyler collapses.

He wakes up in the hospital to find his engine in the public domain! Jake gave it to bring hope to people, Clementine encouraged him due to cynicism. Tyler is shattered, he meets Leonard, begs for an answer "That's just how it is kid...". Tyler storms off with Duster into the badlands, it's name plaque obscured by dust.

A decade later Tyler is now known as "STAR", the most successful space racer in history. His fame doesn't concern him. Tyler declares that he will quit racing after the Century Cup. The ecological disaster is worse, the Duster engine has been misused. Tyler meets Clementine, he has nothing to say. Meanwhile Jake, now known as "Dust Devil" has tried to fix things, he has given up. He meets Tyler to tell him that he is going to stop him. Later Clementine saves Jake's life, he tells her that he will die and Tyler might also die. Clementine tries to stop the race.

The race is on. In space Jake is about crash into Tyler when...
