SYNOPSIS:

George Stark is the creator of the “Eden” community, which is at the origin of the more complex “The Pineal Project”, a kind of new religion with loyal followers around the world. The philosophy of the pineal project promises through the ingestion of special pills and a specific meditation the overcoming of the self and the perfection of the personality, promising the annihilation of one's fears and limitations. The “Edén” community is located on an exotic and unknown island, where all those who join it, after a short time, completely lose contact with their families and friends. Rumors about Stark begin to circulate and many are already questioning the new philosophy: but just when the parents of some missing boys ask to open an official investigation, a girl named Sara reappears in a fleeting video revealed to a journalist in which she explains that she is safe and sound, and that she is now finally living happily. In the video, which becomes a viral phenomenon, other people are also shown in the background. Among these Kathleen recognizes Vicky, her twin sister who died a few years earlier. Kathleen is a famous ex-drug addict DJ now remotely recruited by "The Pineal Project". The remote program includes a series of exercises with virtual reality and the ingestion of blue pills capable of bringing the person into an altered state of consciousness, where initiates can experience their fears and their past, as well as doing sessions directly. with George Stark in his "laboratory".
