By Michael Richey

GENRE: Drama
LOGLINE:

To rescue his only friend from weapons brokers, a brilliant young scientist with a disabling hearing sensitivity must overcome his personal obstacles and use new technology intended for peaceful purposes as a weapon.

SYNOPSIS:

RED NOTE is set in the present with scenes in Atlanta, New York City, and Dubai. BANKS ALFRED is a scientific wonder at age twenty-five. Since the death of his parents, he cannot tolerate any sudden loud noise and wears sound neutralizing headphones. Because he cannot remember the crash that took his parents' lives, he suffers from guilt that he may have somehow contributed to their deaths. When his theory of sound tracking is published, this shy, socially awkward young man finds work in New York City, and forms a familial bond with his gregarious gay neighbor, KIT NOVAK. Kit assists him with his experiments on the roof of their apartment building which are observed by men hired by ALEX RIDGEWAY, who is a point man for a mysterious figure in Dubai. When the observers realize what Banks has accomplished, Banks and those he loves are in grave danger. His surrogate Mother is brutally murdered. Banks is chased through rush hour traffic on a bicycle and shot. He is forced into a subway tunnel without his hearing protection, and when trains come, the trauma is so severe he remembers how his parents died. The event frees him of guilt and much of his sensitivity to sound. Banks fights back. Upon discovering that Kit is missing, Banks uses his technology to find her before she suffocates. Then Banks sends a drone equipped with a deadly sonic weapon in search of Alex, a weapon he had hoped never to use, RED NOTE.
